Mobile money

Collect from Orange Money, Vodacom M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Tigo Money and MTN MoMo wallets across the DRC and the region. The payer approves a push prompt on their phone; confirmation is asynchronous and authoritative only once Baraka Pay receives the provider result.

How it works

  1. Create a PaymentIntent for the amount in CDF with paymentType set to the wallet brand (e.g. mpesa, airtel_money, orange_money, tigo_money, mtn_momo).
  2. Confirm with the payer MSISDN (+243…) — required because mobile-money brands are msisdn-instrument payment types.
  3. Baraka Pay returns a provider-neutral next action; the payer approves the prompt on their handset.
  4. A signed webhook (or a server-side lookup) confirms success — never assume success synchronously.

Integration notes

Direct API: confirm returns a wait/redirect next action. Hosted checkout: the payer selects a mobile-money brand on the Baraka Pay-hosted page, which assigns the paymentType via select-method before confirm.
